必赢体育app中国官方网站's Building Southern business celebrated the completion of the new Silverwood mental health inpatient facility at St Peter鈥檚 Hospital in Chertsey, for Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust with a time capsule burying ceremony.

Members from 必赢体育app中国官方网站鈥檚 team were joined by dignitaries including Dr Ben Spencer, MP for Runnymede and Weybridge, Peter Lee, Deputy Lieutenant for Surrey, and staff from the Trust.

The completion of the 64-bed new build facility, which supports adults with severe or acute mental ill health across Surrey and North East Hampshire closely follows the recent completion of the Stonebow mental health unit refurbishment in Hereford and marks the expansion of 必赢体育app中国官方网站鈥檚 mental healthcare portfolio. The new Silverwood project replaces the old Abraham Cowley Unit (ACU) and has been designed in partnership with people who have lived experience of using mental health services.

The facility features state-of-the-art amenities, including four new wards, all equipped with single en-suite bedrooms. Each ward benefits from its own dedicated garden, a woodland area for supervised walks, enhanced entertainment systems, as well as music, therapy, sensory rooms, and a gym.

In addition to inpatient care, Silverwood is designed to foster a supportive community for staff, featuring lounges, kitchenettes, and a staff garden for relaxation. Staff played a key role in the final stages of the building by participating in a sleepover to thoroughly test the building prior to service user occupation.

Laura Hodgetts, Health Director for 必赢体育app中国官方网站, said: 鈥淭he completion of Silverwood is a testament to our commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare facilities that prioritise patient wellbeing and staff satisfaction. We're proud to have delivered a therapeutic space which will shape the future of mental health services in Chertsey and beyond."
